It’s interesting that Mormonism that went the same route. There were even some (Protestant) Christians (probably others but I’ve only really studied protestantism outside of the early church history) that went the same route. There were even some that took this view and refuted it years later.
It’s just strange that the concept of the given mark was associated with skin color, when there’s nothing like that in the text. I was more surprised that -some- protestants took the view (sola scriptura and all that). I’d expect it from the fringes. Not that it makes such comments acceptable. Such is history. yeah, when i ‘woke up’ (surprisingly recent) i quickly discovered ALL the incredible disgusting stuff and this was yet another shocker that undeniably proves how bad the ‘writers’ and the ‘govnin’ body always has been and above all, why sharing this stuff with people is important, is that it UNDENIABLY shows that this organisation (jdub) CAN NOT have god’s approval.
the best thing to do is simply look at the facts as that snake splane mentions. you don’t need apostates, you don’t need exterior sources (like tax reports), you don’t need news articles on how the watch downer was member of the United Nations for a long time. you REALLY don’t need to go outside of what’s written by the org themselves. matter of fact you don’t even need to be bothered that the dubs ‘censor’ and alter their webpages and articles because there is more then enough material from watchcrawler that PROVES just how filthy, low, disgusting and wicked the organisation is.
